Meet your local team

Alex Stevenson

Contract Director for Kent, Surrey & Sussex

Alex has worked in welfare-to-work for the last six years, managing operations on numerous contracts such as private sector led New Deal, Pathways to Work, Employment Zone and Lone Parent programmes. Alex also has extensive knowledge of managing supply chains and has a proven track record of supporting service providers as they develop and expand, especially in the Third Sector.

Alex joined G4S believing that now really is the time to change the way we deliver welfare-to-work services. Alex believes that G4S is in a unique position to coordinate provision, allowing the industry to break down previous barriers and reach its hidden potential, securing jobs for millions of unemployed individuals.

Matt Coales

Supply Chain Manager for Kent, Surrey & Sussex

After a variety of short roles outside the UK, and a spell in the television and film industry, Matt moved into the welfare-to-work industry in 2005 as an Employment Advisor on Private Sector Led New Deal in London.

This was followed by a move into learning and development, training Employment Advisors and increasing the effectiveness of programmes including Pathways to Work and Employment Zones. Matt then progressed into business development and designing solutions for Flexible New Deal Phase 2 and The Personalised Employment Programme.

Matt feels his role with G4S is the most exciting and challenging of his career. Matt believes G4S makes a unique offer to this industry based on a high volume of relevant vacancies, significant capital raising potential, a deep understanding of working with socially excluded people and the invaluable understanding of employees and employers needs that comes from being such a large employer.

Francis Doran

Supply Chain Manager for Kent, Surrey & Sussex

Francis comes to G4S having worked within welfare-to-work for the last six years. Initially he directly delivered employment services as an Employment Advisor before moving on to manage private sector led New Deal and Pathways programmes. Francis has seen first-hand the benefits of working closely in partnership with a wide range of organisations and has forged local links on the programmes he has managed in the past to provide the best service possible.

The G4S approach to the Work Programme greatly appeals to Francis, as he sees this as a chance to make a positive impact on the wider welfare-to-work community. Francis knows that G4S are well placed to take advantage of the opportunity to deliver a locally tailored approach to the Work Programme, learning from welfare-to-work delivery in the past.
